Appalachia Fire and Rescue

Heard that both organizations have "dissolved" themselves and are no longer in existence. Anyone on here heard anything on that?

I know that appy rescue was having some major problems and was most likely shutting down. I bieleve that Fire is still alive and well, and as a matter of fact wanting more money from the county.

Well after much consideration, they decided that a massive fire would be the best thing to happen to Appy.

I do remember back about 35-40 years or so ago, all the houses that were behind where Bessie's Diner used to be now the "Thee Church" were all burned down at the same time. At that time, that amounted to be about half of Appalachia. I think some of the older people who post on here know where I am talking about. At one time, there were plenty of houses there.
